Visualizing Geopolitics & Strategy for Rudaw Research Center
As the lead Content and Graphic Designer for Rudaw Research Center (part of Rudaw media network), I was responsible for bridging the gap between complex academic research and accessible visual communication. My role was to transform dense geopolitical data into high-impact digital assets, publications, and large-scale event identities that reached the Middle East’s political and academic elite.
The Challenge
RRC deals with complicated, fast-moving Middle Eastern events. The primary challenge was to take raw data from surveys and academic papers and translate it into a visual language that was:
Authoritative: To maintain credibility with decision-makers.
Digestible: To make complex regional shifts easy to understand at a glance.
Unified: To ensure the RRC brand remained consistent across digital platforms, print journals, and high-level diplomatic events.
The Solution (My Strategic Approach)
I implemented a comprehensive visual ecosystem that supported RRC’s mission to inform the Kurdish political elite and global academic community.
Data Visualization & Information Design: I moved beyond basic charts, creating custom infographics and analytical visualizations for surveys and regional research that highlighted trends and actionable insights.
360° Event Branding: For RRC’s high-level forums, I designed a cohesive “Event Universe”—from the primary logo and digital screen backdrops to the tactile experience of guest IDs and printed agendas.
Editorial Excellence: I designed layouts for reports and books, prioritizing readability and professional aesthetics to reflect the center’s status as a top-tier think tank.
